Today
The
Bridge History: Stemming
from a JCCI study on teen pregnancy and subsequently based on
intensive research, The Bridge was created as a model program of
conscientiously designed and implemented programs. The goal of each
program: to effectively work towards the prevention and reduction of
all risk factors that negatively impact our youth.

A Bridge of
Hope: The Bridge started over 20 years ago in a small
house overflowing with the dreams and good wishes of many. The house
in the heart of historic Springfield served as an after school
tutoring facility, a medical clinic, a safe haven and a place for
families. It provided much needed counseling, education, mentoring
and family services for the community.
It was not long before The Bridge grew from a grass roots organization
serving over 200 youth and families to a sprawling campus that now
touches the lives of over 2,000 at risk children and youth.
Today the
Bridge provides the Children's Learning Center, a new state of the
art educational facility, a Teen Center, an expanded Health Clinic,
Counseling, Mentoring and Tutorial Services, Prevention and
Intervention Services, Weekend Programs and Summer Camps. Through
our many programs, services and resources, we have helped thousands
of under served youth and their families fulfill their dreams and
begin new lives. Our Bridge is a welcome detour for many. It has
kept children off the dead-end road of drugs, delinquency, teen
pregnancy and family discord. The Bridge has become a Pathway to
Success.
