National Recognition

• The three years of research among Bridge children concluded positive results i.e. no teen pregnancies, improved school commitment, better achievement, higher self-esteem and a unanimous feeling among participants that the Bridge offers them support, cares about their overall well-being and has high expectations for them.

• The Bridge was distinguished as a Best Practices Model by the Pew Partnership’s “Solutions for America’s Cities” initiative in 2002.

• The Bridge was honored in 2004 with the Bank of America Community Builder Award as one of 60 recipients nationally for high performance in strengthening the lives of children and youth in impoverished neighborhoods.

• The Bridge was one of three statewide recipients of the 2006 Sapphire Award given by The Blue Foundation (Blue Cross Blue Shield) for community health excellence.

• The Bridge was awarded a Presidents’ Grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in January 2007.
